I read Marquis de Sade when I was 13 years old. It wasn’t what I was looking for, but it was what I could find, at the time, about BDSM. Once I figured out what I was into, I wanted more information. I was ravenous for it. And so, I started with the Marquis.
A few years later I found Anne Rice’s “Sleeping Beauty” series and that was much closer to what I was looking for. When I read “Exit to Eden” that was right on target, but then… nothing. Frankly, growing up interested in kink, before the internet, was extremely frustrating.
Once I found the internet it opened the whole world to me and literally led to my first play party and the rest is history. But even with the internet, Amazon, and “50 Shades of Gray” I still had a hard time finding BDSM fiction that inspired me, and my selection for femdom fiction (at the time) was even worse.
That’s why, around 2012, I started writing “Dominatrix Boss.” Simply put, I wrote the femdom fiction novel that I wanted to read. I figured that if I wanted to read something like that, then others would too. Spoiler alert… they did. In droves.
“Dominatrix Boss,” written under the pen name Asher Lake, was not a New York Times Bestseller, but sales were good and it connected to me to a massive community that was also hungry for my style of femdom fiction.

Over the past five or so years I read reviews of “Dominatrix Boss,” and I talked to a lot of people through DMs and emails. I heard from people who were inspired to write their own femdom fiction after reading my book.
I heard from submissive men who said they desperately wanted to experience what the character Tim did, and others who said that they enjoyed the story, but maybe being a real BDSM slave wasn’t for them.
I heard from dominant women who said that they learned about the submissive mindset, or was fascinated with the training methods, or just liked the character Ava’s style. One professional dominatrix wanted me to tell her more about pegging.
I got the reaction I was looking for and it inspired me to write the sequel “Dominatrix Squad” that I released a few days ago, on my birthday.
“Dominatrix Boss” was sizzling hot and designed to be a quick passionate read. I wanted you to love the characters. But “Dominatrix Squad,” technically speaking, is better. There are multiple character arcs, the characters themselves are much more developed, and the cast is much larger.
I really tried to structure my chapters better and follow themes and symbols throughout the book. I listened to advice from professionals and from readers. It’s longer, and more emotional, and, in my opinion, better.
Most writers would not put so much into a spicy femdom story. The thing is, I don’t see this as just a throwaway tale. I’m presenting something that’s important to me and I want it to make you feel something.
I want you to read about this world and want to visit it again. I want you to get wrapped up in what’s happening. I want you to think about the city of Liberty and the characters who live there, long after you read this book. I hope some people learn a thing or two about BDSM or about themselves.
I wrote “Dominatrix Squad” for people who come to the BDSM Training Academy, hungry to know more, just like I was many years ago when I picked up that Marquis de Sade book. Except, unlike de Sade’s book, it’s my great desire that “Dominatrix Squad” will entertain you, arouse you, give you some kinky ideas, show you a peak into what a BDSM relationship is like, and hopefully touch your heart.
I’ve been in the BDSM community since 1995. I poured my decades of experience into “Dominatrix Squad” to make sure that the scenes and characters, while completely fictional and designed to tell a story, were backed by real experiences and research with people who live it.

I’m not new to writing. I’ve been writing, professionally and casually, all my life. But this is only my second novel. And it’s important to me.
My hope is that you enjoy it and that it will soar, because I’d very much like to write these types of novels full time. I designed “Dominatrix Squad,” and expanded “Dominatrix Boss,” so that I would have a world that was big enough to write in for a long time.
