So You Want To Be A Professional Dominatrix

Over the last year I have overheard, been apart of and seen conversations around one subject: How do I make money as a Dominatrix. As far as I know the Pro Domme industry has been a big demand for a very long time. There are many men and some women who will pay to have a woman fulfill their desires of being Dominated.

What I am finding is a large number of women not in the lifestyle who are interested in becoming a Pro Dominatrix. The problem I have is that clearly this new found interest for many of these women is strictly monetary. It truly appears that there is no concern for safety for themselves or for potential clients. When there is no concern for safety, terrible things can happen.

Let Me give you an example of what I am talking about. Below is a conversation taken from O/our livechat system.

sub angela: Hi, How may I help you?

Customer: I want to know how I can become a pro dominatrix

sub angela: Are you a Dominatrix in your personal life?

Customer: No, I just want to know if men would pay to have me dominate them and how I can become a pro dominatrix. If I join a team will they advertise for me?

sub angela: First, I would suggest learning about BDSM and what you need to do to ensure you and a submissive are safe at all times. As a Dominatrix safety should be your first concern.

Customer: Of Course, but there are women who get paid to dominate men correct?

sub angela: Yes, that is true but would you ever ask people to pay you to fly them on an airplane when you don’t know how to fly?

Customer: No, but I hear with being a Pro Dominatrix you don’t have to have sex with clients, just tie them up and spank them. So it shouldn’t be that hard.

This is why I bring this up. There seems to be some strange idea that by being a Pro Dominatrix that you don’t have to worry about your safety or the safety of the submissive. All you have to worry about is how to get more submissives to give you money.

You Must Except Responsibility If You Are Going To Be Dominant

First, when you expect responsibility of a submissive you are taking on their mental, emotional and physical well-being. That is a massive undertaking, whether you are only doing it for one night or for a lifetime. If the submissive is hurt in any way shape or form it is the Dominant’s fault. If you can’t except that then you should not be Dominating someone.

Are You Completely Safe As A Pro Dominatrix?

No, there is always a risk of dealing with a complete stranger. I know many people think all submissive men are these weak and frail men who will just cower in the presence of a Dominant woman. First off that is not true and second you don’t even know if the person you meet will be a submissive man. This is a complete stranger, they might not be submissive and they might not be mentally healthy. The problem is you don’t know who or what you are going to get, which means being a Pro Dominatrix can be dangerous, so a Pro will learn about ways to ensure their safety.

Is Being A Dominant Easy?

Hell No! There are far more things that need to be considered in Dominating another person other than just bondage and spanking. A potential client may not even be into bondage and spanking, what the hell are you going to do then?

While most people in the vanilla world think BDSM is 100% physical, the thing that makes BDSM so exciting and erotic is the mental aspect of it. So learning about the lifestyle and the reasons behind being Dominant and submissive are crucial. It can take years and even then you might only scratch the surface. BDSM is a truly complex lifestyle that can’t simply be broken down into bondage and spanking. And every person is truly unique and their kinky desires are as diverse as each individual. Being Dominant isn’t simple and easy because you are dealing with a difficult subject matter that causes complex emotional reactions from completely different types of people. These are real people with complex needs and desires, if you don’t respect and appreciate that you will do more harm than good.

Can A Submissive Be Hurt?

Even a highly skilled Dominant can accidentally injure a submissive from time to time. But the chances of someone who knows nothing about BDSM activities is more likely to cause harm than actually perform the tasks as designed. Injures can be as simple as excessive bruising, to smaller cuts. The problem is these small injures can lead to bigger problems such as cross contamination and spreading of diseases if a Dominant doesn’t know how to take care of their gear.

Extreme mental and emotional distress from forms of mental Domination that opened up old wounds and past traumas.

I have received emails of submissives telling stories of a new Dominant breaking bones from excessive force, or focusing an impact in the wrong place and limbs being amputated from being in bondage too long.

Have there been deaths during a BDSM scene? Yes, there has been and saying the submissive paid you to do it is not a defense. A submissive paid you because they thought as a professional you knew how to perform the activities they requested in a safe manner. Just read this article about one example of what I’m talking about: Death By A Pro Dominatrix

I hate having to write such a negative and harsh article, but I think it is something that must be said. If you are someone just looking for an easy way to make money then perhaps being a Professional Dominatrix is just not it.  There are way more factors that are far too complex to even begin to discuss in this article.  Most importantly when it comes to being a Pro Domme the first thing that should be on your mind is the safety of everybody involved not money.

My point is, if you have zero interest in BDSM and have no desire to learn how to be a responsible Dominant, but just think being a Pro Domme is an easy way to make money.  Please, Please, Please don’t!

Sincerely,
