The stereotypical image of a Master is a man in leather who simply takes a woman up over his shoulder and forces her to do whatever he wants her to do. And basically, this is the case with most BDSM relationships. However, just as there are many flavors of ice cream, there are also many ‘flavors’ of Masters. If you’re still struggling to find your Master identity, you might want to look at these basic Master descriptions to see what appeals to you most – or you might choose to become a hybrid Master, infusing parts of each description into your BDSM play. It’s up to you, after all.

Basic Master

Your basic Master is someone who dominates a slave, making sure she does what she is supposed to do to, and that she is behaving in a way that makes him happy. This is a Master who is dominating the relationship, calling the shots, and is taking the time to train a slave in any way He sees fit. This is someone who might just be starting out on the Master path and might be someone who moves into other types of ‘Master-ing’ as he becomes more comfortable with his role in the slave’s life.

Daddies

A daddy is someone who can be like a daddy in the relationship with his slave. This might mean that he does a lot of discipline with the slave and treats her like a little girl, rather than a woman. The daddy Master might tell his slave to dress up like a little girl and he might also work on talking to her like she is a young girl. This can also avoid the topic of age play, while also still creating a very distinct difference between the slave and the Master. Daddys might also have certain rules for their girls, like having her sit in little pieces of furniture or sucking her thumb to further enhance the daddy and sort of daughter role.

Drill Master/Slave Owner

Or you might want to be a hard ass Master who simply drills his slave and treats her like an object for his amusement, within the borders of consensual play. You might have your slave try different forms of predicament bondage, for example, or have difficult tasks for her to complete in difficult conditions – counting while being caned, as another example. This is a Master who wants to push his slave as hard as he can in order to see just how much she will take for him until she breaks. This sort of Master might also be a sadist who enjoys giving lots of pain to a masochist slave, pushing her further and further which each meeting they have together.
There are many other types of Masters out there as well. Akin to the role of a Dominatrix, you might also want to be a Master who only plays with people once in a while, not really focusing on the training aspect of having a slave, but just on having fun and seeing how far you can push a girl. Or you might want to be a more dramatic Master who dominates a person only for a show or for a performance. You might also find that you want to be a Master who is coolly in control or one that has to micromanage every aspect of your slave’s life. That’s all up to you and to what kind of time and energy you are willing to devote to your slave.
Before you begin a more focused BDSM relationship, it can help to figure out what kind of Master you want to be so that you can find a slave who wants the treatment you are ready to give out.
